Cornelis Coertsen Van Voorhees was baptized on 23 June 1678 at Old First Dutch Reformed Church, Breuckelen (Brooklyn), Kings Co., Long Island, New York, godfather Thomas Willet, godmother Heijltie Elberts. Cornelis; parents: Court Stevensz, Marritje Gerrits van Couwenhoven; op Midwoud.

He married Antje Remsen [c.1700]; married 1696 in New York.

Ensign in the militia at Flatlands, Long Island in 1700. On 14 May 1702 he bought a farm at Flatlands from Jan Pieterse Wyckoff.

Cornelis Coertsen Van Voorhees was Deacon at New Amersfort, Kings Co., Long Island, New York, on 18 March 1706/7 in place of Marten Schenk.
